Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned Middle Eastern countries hosting US military bases to be ready for a “counter-response,” the country’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported. The IRGC warned these countries to activate their civil-defence units to protect their citizens and move them away from possible military targets, saying their territory was being used as a base to attack Iran.

The report said the IRGC had carried out drone and missile strikes on a US military logistics centre at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, claiming this caused casualties among US troops stationed there. The IRGC said it had struck the US Ali al-Salem air base in Kuwait and disabled its radar system, and claimed to have destroyed a weapons-maintenance hangar and a drone installation at the base.
