Show-cause notices have been served on the heads of institutions that submitted false vacancy data for teacher posts to the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA). The notices were also issued because the institution heads failed to supply information on time for the verification of vacant posts. They have been directed to explain, within 10 working days and through the relevant regional office, why their MPO benefits should not be suspended or cancelled.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) sent the show-cause notices on Tuesday (June 16).
The notice said that letters had been sent to the regional directors of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education to verify information received from the NTRCA. In response, the regional directors verified the accuracy of all college-level vacant posts and sent the relevant information. The report found that 237 posts had been listed as incorrect, or falsely requested, for the reasons stated by the educational institutions.
False requests by educational institutions create administrative confusion on the one hand, while on the other, recommendation and appointment to the wrong post causes indescribable hardship in securing MPO enrollment, the notice said. Accordingly, because institution heads failed to supply information on time for the verification of these false requests, they have been requested, under clause 18.1(d) of the 2025 Manpower Structure and MPO Policy, to provide within 10 working days — through the relevant regional office — their explanation as to why MPO benefits should not be suspended or cancelled against the principals concerned, along with their views on declaring the post of governing-body chairman vacant and taking necessary legal action.
