Nearly three years since his last Brazil appearance, Neymar Jr. returned to the Seleção — but the number ten came off the bench only after the match had already been decided. It was Vinicius Júnior who settled the contest, scoring twice for the third successive game. Brazil beat Scotland 3-0 in Miami and topped Group C.

In the other Group C match, Morocco beat Haiti 4-2. Both teams finished on 7 points from three matches, but Brazil advance as group winners by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Brazil went ahead in the 7th minute. Raphinha was unavailable through injury and Ryan took his place, winning the ball from a Scottish defender on the edge of the box and feeding it to Vinicius Júnior, who finished comfortably.

Vinicius added his second goal in first-half stoppage time. Bruno Guimarães played a long ball into the box and Vinicius met it at the near post, heading it into the net to send Brazil in 2-0 up at the break.

Bruno Guimarães was also the architect of the third goal. In the 60th minute he played a short, precise pass from just outside Scotland’s box to find Matheus Cunha in space, and the Manchester United striker finished with his left foot to make it 3-0. Cunha has now scored 3 goals in the tournament alongside Vinicius Júnior’s 4. Neymar came on for Cunha in the 76th minute, making his first Brazil appearance since October 17, 2023.
