Investigations into allegations that Dipak Chandra Sarker, headteacher of Kharia Nabarun Secondary School in Paikgachha, Khulna, holds Indian citizenship and appears on a voter list have produced no visible legal action. Reports by the upazila executive officer and district administration mention his name on a West Bengal voter list, and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has sought his written response.
Documents identify him as a resident of Barshul village in West Bengal while he is also registered as a voter in Khulna. Several investigations between 2024 and 2026 said a foreign citizen cannot hold an MPO-funded teaching post. He also faces allegations of irregular recruitment and financial transactions involving relatives and other appointees, and questions over spending of a five-million-taka school grant.
The education directorate said he was given 10 working days to respond to a show-cause notice and later submitted a written reply. Sarker denies dual citizenship, being an Indian voter, misusing grant money and taking payments for recruitment. He says someone placed his name on India’s list to frame him. The reports will go to the director general for review.
