The government has taken up an initiative to build an integrated digital platform called BanglaBiz, bringing all existing one-stop service (OSS) portals under a single umbrella, in order to simplify business registration and investment-related approvals.

Work on the project, which will cost 661 crore 50 lakh taka, has already begun.

A press release issued on Tuesday said the project is currently awaiting final approval at the Prime Minister’s Office. Its main purpose is to create a single digital platform for investors by bringing together the services of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.

If the initiative is implemented, investors will no longer have to wait two to three years to obtain initial business registration and other regulatory approvals. These processes will instead be completed within just three working days.

Under the project, the BanglaBiz platform will have a single sign-on (SSO) system, allowing users to obtain the services of several agencies with a single account.

It will also include a dashboard called Know Your Approvals, through which the stage an application for a licence or permit has reached can be tracked directly.

One of the main features of the project is the introduction of a unique business ID (UBID) for every enterprise.

The lifetime identifier will make it easier for government agencies to exchange information, remove the need to submit the same documents repeatedly, and improve the quality of services.

The project is being implemented in stages. The first stage began in February 2026 with an initial business starter pack. There are plans to add the most important services to the platform within the next nine to 12 months.

The project’s goal is to make all investment-related services fully digital by 2030.

The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is providing technical support for the project, and its legal aspects are being handled under the Invest Bangladesh Act.

Officials concerned believe that once BanglaBiz is launched, Bangladesh’s system for facilitating investment will take a new shape, creating an easier environment for doing business and attracting large-scale domestic and foreign investment.
