Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A A M Nasir Uddin has said all preparations for local government elections are complete.
He made the remarks to reporters at the Election Commission building in the capital’s Agargaon on Thursday.
The CEC said Union Parishad (UP) elections will be held first, with voting in the first phase taking place in 371 unions.
He further said preparations for voting will take place in September, the schedule will be announced in November, and voting will be held in December. The Election Commission will meet with the Ministry of Local Government next week to discuss financial matters.
