President Donald Trump of the United States is interested in holding a meeting with Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian. He gave that indication in an interview with Fox News. He also said he was still at the stage of taking a decision on the Iran question. Trump said “something very big” was about to happen.
Speaking to the Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst on Sunday, Trump said Iran had to stay “within limits”. He also did not rule out the possibility of meeting Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
Trump noted that the United States has several options on Iran. Among them are “destroying it completely”, allowing it to weaken economically, or reaching an understanding.
Pezeshkian is to attend the session of the United Nations General Assembly. Asked whether he would meet Iran’s president, Trump said he was “probably interested in that”.
