The United States has completely failed to achieve its goals in the war with Iran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed in a statement issued on Saturday to mark National Journalist Day.
The statement said US President Donald Trump had been caught in “a trap of his own making” in the war against Iran.
The IRGC claimed that, despite their military and media-based efforts, the United States and Israel had failed to achieve their desired goals in the second and third rounds of the war against Iran. World media too, it claimed, were now acknowledging Washington’s failure and clearly highlighting Trump’s “defeat” and his falling into “a trap of his own making”. These claims could not be independently verified.
The war had revealed new dimensions of the United States’ “strategic stalemate”, divisions among Western allies and the visible decline of the country’s dominance, the statement said.
The IRGC said the ceasefire agreement was in effect a document of the United States’ surrender to the real situation and to Iran’s negotiating capacity.
