Political, religious, and cultural delegations from around the world gathered at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on Friday to pay respects to the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported.
Among those who paid their respects were leaders from Russia, India, China, Turkey, Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and Bangladesh, as well as members of Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah.
Also present were Indonesian and Afghan religious scholars, Ahmad Massoud (son of the late Ahmad Shah Massoud), a delegation from Lebanon’s Amal Movement, representatives from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Morocco, and Turkey’s resistance fronts, representatives of Afghanistan’s Fatemiyoun Brigade, and Pakistani leaders.
Cultural workers from Spain, Ecuador, and Bolivia, members of Bulgaria’s parliament and the Republican Party, and prominent Iranian politician Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel also attended.
The family of the late Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Lebanese resistance commanders, a delegation from Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami, Iraqi tribal leaders, Kurdish parties from the Kurdistan region, Iraqi parliamentarians, representatives of various Lebanese political parties, and media workers from Lebanon, Iraq, and Afghanistan were also present.
Palestinian delegations, Hindu religious leaders, Shia representatives from Thailand and Germany, Russian clerical delegations, representatives of various Turkish political parties, and Georgia’s Muslim administration also attended.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said approximately 100 countries would be represented at the final farewell ceremonies, including eight heads of state and 12 parliamentary speakers.
