Several people were injured in clashes and counter-chases between Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Shibir at Dhaka College around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Abdul Malek, office secretary of the college unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir, was seriously injured and admitted to Popular Hospital in Dhanmondi, according to the report.
Leaders and activists of the college unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal later marched on campus at 1:30 p.m.
Mohammad Mamun, finance secretary of the college’s Shibir unit, said the organization had arranged a reception for families of those killed in the July mass uprising and a discussion in Gallery 2 to mark the uprising’s anniversary.
Mamun alleged that five or six people led by Malek were decorating the gallery when 20 to 25 Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, led by convening committee member Parvez Mosharraf, arrived and assaulted them.
The report did not include a response from Chhatra Dal to the allegation.
