All price indices fell at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market, on Wednesday. The share prices of most companies also fell.
According to the DSE, 50 crore 50 lakh 39 thousand 949 shares and mutual fund units of 391 companies in total were traded. At the end of the day total turnover stood at 1 thousand 342 crore 51 lakh 69 thousand 878 taka.
Among the companies that took part in trading, the share prices of 113 rose, those of 239 fell and those of 39 remained unchanged.
At the end of the day the DSE’s main price index, the DSEX, stood at 5 thousand 878.85 points, down 21.41 points on the previous trading day. The DSE-30 index fell 8.77 points to 2 thousand 210.73 points, and the shariah-based DSES index fell 9.51 points to 1 thousand 191.94 points.
The top 10 companies by turnover were Argon Denims, Dominage Steel, Beximco, Sayham Textile, BOTBC, ACME Pesticide, ITC, Sayham Cotton, BRAC Bank and Indo-Bangla Pharma.
The top 10 gainers were United Insurance, Sayham Textile, Argon Denims, Sonargaon Textile, Prime Islami Insurance, Karnaphuli Insurance, EXIM Bank First Mutual Fund, Nitol Insurance, Provati Insurance and Sonar Bangla Insurance.
The top 10 losers were Beximco, Fortune Shoes, Renwick Jajneswar, NRB Bank, ML Dyeing, B-Leasing, NCCBL Mutual Fund-1, AB Bank First Mutual Fund, PHP First Mutual Fund and Trust Bank First Mutual Fund.
