Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said there is no scope for a quick solution to the energy crisis. Even with the government taking every initiative available to it to tackle the crisis, he said, a resolution will come slowly.

He made the remarks Saturday afternoon at a seminar on the fiscal year 2026 biannual economic outlook, organized by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in the capital’s Motijheel.

“There is no way out of the economy’s current crisis without investment,” the finance minister said. “That is why the government is working to create an investment-friendly environment to increase both domestic and foreign investment.”

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said: “We aim to ensure a three-month reserve in every energy sector. The government is making every possible effort toward that goal.”
