CHATTOGRAM — Banshkhali Member of Parliament Zahirul Islam inaugurated several development projects at the Banshkhali Upazila Health Complex in Chattogram on Saturday, officials said.

The projects were formally launched at a ceremony held on the complex grounds. They include construction of a hospital boundary wall and renovation and repair of residential buildings, officials said.

Implementation of the projects will strengthen hospital security and improve housing for doctors and health workers, those involved said.

The inauguration was attended by Dr. Nazma Akter, director of the Banshkhali Upazila Health Complex, along with health officials, local representatives, dignitaries and people from various professions.

The project is being carried out by the Health Engineering Department to upgrade infrastructure at the upazila health complex and improve the quality of health services, with oversight from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Speakers at the event said infrastructure improvement in the health sector continues as part of the government’s ongoing development work. They said such projects would allow ordinary people to receive more modern, safe and quality health care.

“The government is working tirelessly to bring better health care to people’s doorsteps,” Islam said. He added that necessary infrastructure development and staffing facilities at the local level would be ensured to continue progress in the health sector.
