Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 112 bottles of Indian intoxicant Escuf syrup and three kilograms of marijuana in an anti-drug operation along the Jibannagar border in Chuadanga. The syrup and marijuana were recovered unclaimed from the Manikpur border area under Rajapur Border Outpost’s jurisdiction late Saturday night, August 15.
The information was disclosed Sunday morning, August 16, in a press release signed by Munshi Imdadur Rahman, Assistant Director of the Mahespur Battalion (58 BGB).
According to the release, a BGB team from Rajapur Border Outpost under the Mahespur Battalion (58 BGB) conducted an anti-drug operation at 9:10 p.m. Saturday at a guava orchard belonging to a person named Sharif in Manikpur village, Jibannagar upazila, Chuadanga, located roughly 50 yards inside Bangladeshi territory from border pillar 72/3-S in their area of responsibility.
During the operation, 112 bottles of Indian intoxicant Escuf syrup and three kilograms of marijuana were recovered unclaimed from inside the orchard and seized. The operation was led by Naib Subedar Abul Kalam Azad.
