The “Hello DC” mobile app has been launched to make Dhaka district administration’s services easier, faster and more citizen-friendly. Through it, citizens can access various district-administration services, complaints, applications and information on a single platform from home.
The app was formally inaugurated on Tuesday, July 21, in the conference room of the deputy commissioner’s office.
Initially, the app can be downloaded from hellodc.bd. After a review, it will also be available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and it can be downloaded from the Dhaka district administration’s official Facebook page. Citizens can also call 01961606060 directly from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The district administration said citizens can communicate directly with it through the app, sending applications, complaints and suggestions on land, law and order, relief, social safety, licensing, public grievances and more. The progress of applications can also be tracked in the app.
The app will also allow citizens to book appointments with the deputy commissioner, and to access NGO and licensing services, mutation, vested-property matters, assistance and other services in one place.
At the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said: “Our goal is to bring government services to people’s doorsteps. This technology-based initiative will reduce citizens’ time, cost and harassment. The Hello DC app was launched to make the district administration more transparent, accountable and service-oriented.”
Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md Moniruzzaman Mia called the app a timely initiative to make citizen services simple, fast and technology-based. Such innovation will bring the district administration’s services closer to people and help ensure transparency and accountability in public services, he said.
The government is working relentlessly to reduce public suffering and improve service quality through the fullest use of information technology, he added, calling the app an effective example and urging officials to carry out their duties sincerely to make the initiative a success.
The main aim, he said, is to build an effective digital service system by quickly resolving citizens’ feedback and complaints.
The district administration said the app will be enriched in phases, with plans to add new services and turn it into an integrated digital service platform.
