Armed Israeli settlers set fire to a Palestinian family’s home in the southern Hebron area of the occupied West Bank. Palestinian media said family members were asleep inside at the time of the attack.

The homeowner, Mohammad al-Nawaja, told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that five armed, masked settlers attacked their home in the early hours of the morning. One of them broke a window and threw a flammable substance inside, setting the house on fire.

Palestinian media reports said the settlers involved in the attack may have come from the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of Otniel.

Meanwhile, a blockade by Israeli settlers around several Palestinian homes in the village of Qusra, in the southern Nablus area of the West Bank, has entered its 12th day. There are allegations that the Israeli military is providing protection to the settlers.

Three homes remain under blockade. Residents of these homes are unable to go outside or return inside. Village council chairman Abdul Azim Wadi also alleged that Israeli soldiers are using one of the homes as a military post.

He further said the blockaded families are facing shortages of food and medicine. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the prolonged blockade is worsening their humanitarian situation.
