Ten people have been confirmed dead after a warehouse collapsed in the Taratala area of Kolkata, rescue workers said on Thursday morning as the operation entered its 21st hour. Thirty people have been pulled alive from the rubble.
Those confirmed dead include Krishna Chowdhury, Rohit Chowdhury, Rahul Chowdhury, Chandrama Chowdhury, Pappu Rajak, Azgar Hossain, Sahil Sardar, Ghi Kumar and two others yet to be identified.
Military personnel are deployed using sub-surface detection equipment to search for any survivors still trapped beneath the debris. The rescue operation was continuing, authorities said.
