PATUAKHALI, Sept. 26 — An orientation and career guidance program was held for honors first-year students of the 2025-26 academic year and class 11 students of the 2026-27 academic year at Patuakhali Government College.
The program was organized Saturday on the college campus by the Patuakhali Government College unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Held under the theme of knowledge, skills, patriotism and Islamic consciousness, the program urged students to acquire skills alongside their studies and to be inspired by ethics and patriotism.
Dr. Shafiqur Islam Masud, member of Parliament for Patuakhali-2, or Bauphal, spoke as chief guest. He urged students to acquire knowledge and build themselves as skilled, honest and patriotic citizens. He also emphasized using young people’s talent and qualifications for the welfare of the country.
The program began with recitation from the Quran and Islamic songs. New students, college teachers, former presidents and leaders of the organization at different levels later spoke.
Career-focused discussions were delivered by Chhatra Shibir central planning and development secretary Md Sumon Sarker and former central Dawah secretary Advocate Mujahidul Islam. They stressed future career planning, skill development and proper use of time.
Former executive council member and former district president Abdullah Al Nahian and Patuakhali district Jamaat Ameer Advocate Nazmul Ahsan were present.
