Dhaka:
Iran’s military said it shot down an Israeli intelligence drone in Hormozgan province, the state-run Mehr News Agency reported.
The wreckage of the drone had been recovered with the help of Iran’s navy, the report said. The aircraft was identified as a surveillance drone of the Orbiter model.
Iranian authorities said the drone had been used for intelligence-gathering. They did not release any details about the circumstances in which it was brought down.
There was no immediate official comment from Israel on the incident.
