Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow is ready to ensure the safe transport and storage of Iran’s enriched uranium. Putin made the statement while addressing a press conference in Moscow. He said Russia had relocated enriched uranium from Iran in 2015 and is prepared to repeat the experience.
Putin said that all sides that emerged victorious in the recent Iran war had initially agreed on the relocation of Tehran’s rich uranium-producing country outside its borders. He added, “But later, the United States hardened its position and insisted that Iran’s uranium should be transported only to the American continent. Then Iran also took a hard stance.”
Putin, while informing that Moscow has maintained communication with Washington and Tehran, also said he hopes the war will end as soon as possible. Iran has not commented on this matter temporarily.
