Iran’s air defense force still 100% ready: commander

Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, has said his force remains 100 percent ready to defend the country’s airspace, adding that full surveillance is being maintained along all of Iran’s borders.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Elhami discussed Iran’s air defense system and its capacity to protect the country’s airspace. He said the kind of capabilities Iran possesses, and how they are being deployed, is being demonstrated through actual operations.

He said: “Today, the air defense forces of both the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are 100 percent ready. Full surveillance is under way along all of the country’s borders, and we are ready to defend the country’s airspace.”

Elhami said the downing of an enemy tactical drone proved that the personnel of Iran’s relevant forces are fully prepared to carry out their duties, and that they will continue to fulfill their responsibility to protect the country’s security to their last breath.
