Keeping oil and gas prices low for Americans, rather than the Iranian nuclear issue, is now Washington’s highest priority in the conflict, the United States says.

In an interview with Fox News, US Vice President JD Vance said: “I know that oil prices have come down today, and they are much lower now than the peak at the start of the conflict.”

“Our main goal is to keep oil and gas prices affordable for people across the country,” he said.

“Then, of course, the second goal is to make sure Iran can never acquire a nuclear weapon,” Vance said.
