The Saudi-led military coalition says it has carried out air strikes near the Bab al-Mandeb strait to support allied forces conducting a ground operation against the Houthis in Yemen, Al Jazeera reports.

Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki said more than 300 “important targets” had been hit in Yemen so far.

In a post on the social media platform X, he said: “We are providing air support day and night to assist Yemen’s armed forces on the ground. The ongoing operation to engage targets continues.”

Al-Maliki said more than 100 warplanes took part in “Operation Dawn of Yemen” on Monday morning. He added that air strikes had been stepped up alongside the ground forces’ operation against the Houthis.
