MEHERPUR — Bangladesh Air Force members visited the family of Mahia Tasnim, an eighth grader killed in the Milestone School plane crash, at her grandfather’s village in Mujibnagar, relatives said.

The Air Force team traveled Friday to Joypur village in Mujibnagar upazila of Meherpur district to express condolences. They later laid flowers at Tasnim’s grave that afternoon.

Wing Commander Rehana and Squadron Leader Iktiar Hossain, representing the Air Force chief, placed flowers at Tasnim’s grave along with other members.

Tasnim, an eighth grader at Milestone School and the daughter of the late engineer Mohammad Ali of Chuadanga, died July 24 while being treated for burns at a hospital. She was buried at her grandfather’s village in Joypur, Mujibnagar.

“A team from the Air Force met with our family,” said Nazrul Islam, Tasnim’s grandfather. “They later assured us of full support.”

Polash Mondal, executive officer of Mujibnagar upazila, said the upazila administration would always stand by Tasnim’s family.
