DHAKA — Signing the July Charter has opened a new chapter in Bangladesh’s political history, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Friday.
Fakhrul made the remarks to reporters after the July Charter signing ceremony at the South Plaza of the National Parliament on Friday afternoon.
“The commissions formed by the interim government worked for nearly eight months, and through today’s signing of this charter, a new chapter has opened in Bangladesh’s political history,” the BNP secretary general said.
He thanked Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, the political parties, the National Consensus Commission, BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and members of all parties.
