MUNSHIGANJ — Two friends were killed in a motorcycle crash on the service lane of the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan upazila, police said.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Dhaleshwari Bridge at Kuchiamora in the upazila.
The dead were identified as Emon Bhuiyan, 26, and Samiul Islam, 27. Emon was the son of Sentu Bhuiyan of the Ghona Shyampur area in Sirajdikhan upazila. Samiul’s home is in the Kolakopa Bhouratati area of Dhaka’s Nababganj upazila.
According to Hasara Highway Police, Bhuiyan and Islam were riding a motorcycle toward Mawa on Tuesday night. When they reached the Dhaleshwari Bridge at Kuchiamora on the expressway service lane around 10:30 p.m., a vehicle hit them from behind, police said. The motorcycle was thrown onto the bridge, and the two died at the scene.
