BENAPOLE — Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a 37-year-old man and recovered a pistol during a raid on a paddy storehouse in the Benapole border area, officials said.
The raid was conducted at dawn Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the Uttarpara area of Daulatpur village.
The detainee, Ataur Rahman, is the son of Soliman Hossen from Daulatpur village under Benapole Port thana.
According to BGB sources, members of the Daulatpur BOP under the Khulna 21 BGB Battalion conducted the raid based on a tip. During a search of a paddy storehouse, Rahman was detained along with a pistol.
Khulna 21 BGB Battalion commander Lt. Col. Khurshid Anwar said: “A case has been filed against the detainee under the Arms Act and he has been handed over to Benapole Port thana.”
