DACOPE, Khulna — Retail fertilizer dealers in Khulna’s Dacope upazila formed a human chain demanding that they be included in the government’s current fertilizer policy as ID-card holders.
After the demonstration, a memorandum addressed to the agriculture ministry secretary was submitted through Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Asmot Hossen and Upazila Agriculture Officer Shafiqul Islam.
The Retail Fertilizer Dealers’ Association of Bangladesh (KSBAB), Dacope upazila unit, organized the demonstration.
The human chain was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dak Bungalow intersection in Chalna, the Dacope upazila headquarters. It was chaired by the unit’s convenor Sukriti Roy and conducted by member-secretary Hazrat Ali Sana. Speakers included joint convenor Haidul Sana, finance secretary Tapas Roy, Gaushul Sheikh, Abdul Hai, Ashok Mondal, Tushar Das, Sajal Saha, Sudipta Gain, Gauranga Ghorami, Haidar Gazi, Anwarul Gazi and Dinabandhu Mondal.
