NARAIL — A 14-year-old ninth-grade student, Dima Islam, has gone missing after leaving her home for school in Kalia upazila of Narail, police said. Her father filed a general diary at Kalia police station on Friday, Oct. 31, over the disappearance.
Dima is the daughter of Shariful Islam Sikder of Banka village in Kalia upazila, family members said.
According to the family and the general diary, Dima left home around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, headed for Piari Mongkar Girls’ Secondary School in Kalia upazila. She has not returned home since. Despite searches in every possible location, no trace of her has been found, the family said. Her father filed the general diary at Kalia police station the next day to seek the search for his daughter.
“My daughter is very simple and innocent,” Dima’s mother, Nilufa Begum, said. “She said she was going to school that day and then never came back. We are very worried.”
Kalia police station officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Mamun said authorities had sent information about the missing girl to various parts of the country. “Police are making every effort to recover her,” he said.
