Bangladesh begins hiring 10,000 primary school teachers

DHAKA — The Bangladesh government has begun the recruitment of 10,000 assistant teachers for government primary schools, with candidates from six divisions selected in the first phase.

A notice has been issued inviting applications for 10,219 assistant teacher posts in the Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions.

Applications opened Saturday, Nov. 8, and will be accepted online through Nov. 21, the notice said. Application instructions and forms are available on the Teletalk website at http://dpe.teletalk.com.bd, and candidates must apply online following the posted guidelines.

The assistant teacher posts will be paid at the 13th grade of the 2015 national pay scale. Candidates must hold at least a second-class or equivalent bachelor’s or honors degree from a recognized university, with a minimum CGPA of 2.25 on a 4-point scale or 2.8 on a 5-point scale.

A third division or third class at any educational level, or an equivalent GPA or CGPA, will not be acceptable.
