JASHORE — A free medical camp organized by the Al Helal Trust treated more than 1,000 patients in Bagharpara upazila, with free consultations and medicines provided.

People of all ages and backgrounds received treatment at the camp, which ran Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp was inaugurated by Professor Golam Rasul, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s nominated parliamentary candidate for the Jashore-4 seat, as chief guest.

Special guests included Belal Hussain, assistant secretary of the Jashore district unit of Jamaat; upazila chief Professor Rafiqul Islam; and upazila secretary A. Jabbar, along with other local leaders. The event was chaired by Master Nasir Haider, a former vice chairman of the upazila.

Five specialist doctors served patients and provided consultations through the day, and necessary medicines were distributed free of charge under Golam Rasul’s supervision.

In his inaugural remarks, Professor Golam Rasul said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami believed in welfare politics that delivered services to people’s doorsteps. “If I am elected, I will modernize Bagharpara’s health sector and make it effective,” he said.

The free medical camp was jointly organized by Kind Vision Jashore and Al Helal Trust Bagharpara. Local residents praised Golam Rasul’s humanitarian initiative and called for such activities to continue in the future.
