MUNSHIGANJ — Two pedestrians were killed in separate crashes on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj district between about 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, Sreenagar Fire Service station officer Dewan Azad Hossain confirmed to Naya Diganta.
He said that around 8 p.m., responding to a report, his team learned that a speeding ambulance traveling in the Mawa-bound lane at a place called Samaspur struck a pedestrian, killing him on the spot. The victim’s name and identity could not be immediately determined.
The second crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. at Ompara in Sreenagar upazila. A.T.M. Mahmudul Haque, officer-in-charge of Hansara Highway Police Station, confirmed to Naya Diganta that a Dhaka-bound motorcycle, traveling at reckless speed, struck an unidentified male pedestrian, 45. He was taken to Sreenagar Health Complex with help from highway police, where the attending physician declared him dead.
