KISHOREGANJ — Two brothers were electrocuted in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj on Saturday morning, with the younger brother dying while trying to save the elder from a fallen power line, officials said.
The dead were identified as Nuru Khan, 60, and Fazlu Khan, 55, both residents of Galachipa village in Shahedal Union of the upazila. The incident occurred Saturday (November 22) morning.
Local sources said Nuru Khan went out in the morning to fetch straw for the family cow from near the house. He stepped on a snapped power line lying on the ground and was electrocuted on the spot. His younger brother Fazlu Khan rushed to save him and was electrocuted by the same wire. Both men died at the scene.
Md. Firuz Uddin, chairman of Hossainpur upazila’s Shahedal Union Parishad ward 5, confirmed the deaths.
