CHANDPUR — Police in Chandpur have detained 51 people, including suspected members of teen gangs, in separate operations, Md. Bahar Mia, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station, said Monday, Dec. 1.
From the evening of Sunday, Nov. 30, through midnight, officers from the Sadar Model Police Station conducted drives at Mukharjeeghat, Chowdhuryghat, Londonghat, Chayabani Mor and the municipal CNG stand at Puran Adalatpara, the Kalibari platform and several other areas of Chandpur city. They detained 45 suspected teen-gang members in those operations. The District Detective Branch separately detained six suspected juvenile offenders.
The officer-in-charge said legal action would be taken against those linked to any offenses, or about whom crime-related information was found, after initial screening.
