The nomination was confirmed by NCP member secretary Akhtar Hossain.
The NCP announced its list of 125 first-phase nominated candidates on Wednesday morning. Among Noakhali’s six seats, the party has finalized candidates for three on the water lily bud symbol.
They are: Barrister Omar Faruk for Noakhali-1 (Chatkhil-Sonaimuri), Advocate Humayra Noor for Noakhali-5 (Companiganj-Kabirhat), and Abdul Hannan Masud for Noakhali-6 (Hatiya).
Candidates for Noakhali-2 (Senbagh-Sonaimuri), Noakhali-3 (Begumganj) and Noakhali-4 (Sadar-Subarnachar) have not yet been announced.
Reacting to the nomination, Humayra Noor said the party had nominated her in the Noakhali-5 seat thanks to the love and prayers of the voters. “This is not just my personal achievement — it is the result of your trust and support,” she said. “I want to move forward with you, with your prayers and cooperation. Working sincerely for the area’s development, rights and people’s welfare will be my only goal.”
