CHATTOGRAM — Police arrested a man with an illegal firearm and ammunition in the Karnaphuli area of Chattogram early Friday, an officer said.
The suspect, identified as Rashed Nur, also known as Rashu, 38, was detained around 4 a.m. during a raid in the North Bandar area of Bairag Union, police said. He is the son of Razzaq Nur, a resident of the same area.
Officers recovered one locally made LG firearm and three rounds of ammunition from him, according to police.
Mohammad Jahedul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Karnaphuli police station, confirmed the arrest. “A case has been filed against the suspect at the station,” he said. “Police are taking further legal action.”
