JASHORE, Bangladesh — A joint operation by army and police detained a woman drug dealer along with 22 bottles of Phensedyl in Abhaynagar upazila, police said.
The operation in Bibhagdi village of Baghutiya union was carried out between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday, police said.
The detained woman was identified as Tari Begum, also known as Najma Begum, 35, the wife of local resident Habibur Sheikh. After the raid, army and police members handed her over to Abhaynagar police along with the seized Phensedyl.
Abhaynagar police station Officer-in-Charge M. Rabiul Islam said: “A woman named Najma Begum was detained from the Bibhagdi area of Baghutiya along with 22 bottles of Phensedyl. A case has been filed against her under the Narcotics Control Act and she has been sent to court.”
