BANDARBAN — Two people were killed and another was injured Thursday afternoon when a bus struck a motorcycle in the Baitul Izzat area of Bandarban, a hospital official said.
The dead were identified as Nazmul, 30, son of Mafizur Rahman and a resident of Ward 9 of Bandarban municipality, and Touhid, 25, a fish trader from Ward 7. Both died at the scene.
A third rider, identified as Kader, was rescued by local residents and taken to Ashshefa Hospital in Keranihat, where doctors gave him initial treatment before referring him to Chattogram.
Dr. Ibrahim, a medical officer at Ashshefa Hospital, said local residents brought three motorcycle riders to the hospital after the crash. Two were dead on arrival, and the third was referred to Chattogram after initial treatment.
