KASBA, Brahmanbaria — Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) provided free medical care and distributed winter clothing among laborers and destitute people in border areas of Kasba upazila on Thursday.
The day-long free medical camp was held on Dec. 18 at the Bayek Sher-e-Bangla High School field in Kasba upazila under the supervision of the Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) of Brahmanbaria district. About 300 men and women received free medical treatment at the camp, which ran from morning until afternoon.
Patients at the camp received medical advice for various conditions, and necessary medicines were distributed free of charge. Winter clothes were also distributed among the poor and destitute in the border area in view of the harsh winter.
Attendees included Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman, commanding officer of the Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB); Assistant Director Khaled Imam; Madla camp commander Subedar Zakir Hossain; Khadla camp commander Naek Subedar Shafiur Rahman; Salda River camp commander Ali Hossain, called Ghazi; and other BGB officials.
BGB said the activities were part of its work to ensure healthcare and humanitarian assistance for ordinary people in the border area, and that such public welfare programs would continue in the future.
