NASIRNAGAR, Brahmanbaria — A fire broke out at a warehouse of Partex Star Group, operated as Nazifa Enterprise, on Girls School Road in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria. The blaze occurred late Monday night at the locked warehouse.

Goods, furniture and an auto-rickshaw inside the warehouse, worth about 650,000 taka, were destroyed, the director of Nazifa Enterprise said. A unit of the Nasirnagar Fire Service brought the fire under control after reaching the scene.

Nazifa Enterprise director Sheikh Saifur Islam said a neighboring shopkeeper called him around 4:30 a.m. to say the premises were on fire. Goods worth about 650,000 taka were destroyed, including Danish condensed milk, noodles, Partex tissue and juices from the group, he said.

“We received the report and brought the fire under control after reaching the scene,” said Motahar Hossain, team leader of the Fire Service and Civil Defence station. “Initially it appears the fire may have been caused by an electrical short-circuit.”
