JOYPURHAT, Bangladesh — Grassroots Bangladesh Nationalist Party workers have launched a wide door-to-door campaign and leaflet drive in the Joypurhat-2 constituency, covering Kalai, Khetlal and Akkelpur, to carry the party’s 31-point program to voters ahead of the upcoming parliamentary election. The campaign in the seat was led by BNP nomination hopeful Aminur Islam, an engineer and businessman holding Commercially Important Person status, as part of the party’s central program.
He went door to door with party workers at key spots across Joypurhat, including Kalai bus stand, Nishchinta, Battoli, Itakhola Bazar, Gopinathpur, Jamalganj Bazar, Munjahar Bazar, Panchgram and Punat Bazar. A large procession of several hundred motorcycles, leaflet distribution and roadside rallies presented the BNP’s 31-point program and pre-election pledges to the public. Speaking during the campaign, Aminur Islam said: “The BNP is the people’s party. Its politics is a movement to establish the rights of the people. The main objective of the 31-point program is to repair the state and improve people’s quality of life. Whoever the party nominates, I will work in their support.”
