Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Iran’s leadership is fighting for its survival and will not last in the end. He made the claim at an event on Monday marking the third anniversary of the 7 October attack, Iran International reports.

Netanyahu said Israel would not allow Tehran, which he called a terrorist state, to become a threat to its existence.

He said the state, which he described as a tyranny, was now at its weakest since its founding, that Iran was now fighting to survive and that its final fate would be to disappear.

The Israeli prime minister said Iran had sought to destroy Israel through a three-pronged strategy: keeping armed groups around Israel, aiming thousands of missiles at Israeli territory and building nuclear weapons for the purpose of total destruction.

He said those plans had been crushed step by step through joint efforts, and that Israel had struck Iran’s stockpile of ballistic missiles and done extensive damage to its nuclear facilities.

Warning that Israel would finish its task completely, Netanyahu said the military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon would continue and that Hamas would not be able to operate in Gaza.
