Nasiruddin Patwary, a leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has expressed strong anger over alleged question leaks in recruitment tests, partisan appointments and the seizing of control in various sectors. In a Facebook post on Saturday he asked directly: “Do BNP people not study? Why do question papers have to be leaked to sit an exam?”

He wrote that after roads, bus stands, tempo stands and markets had all been seized, and traders’ livelihoods hit by extortion, violence and land grabbing, the job market too was now being pushed towards ruin.

Urging that employment and recruitment be kept transparent, he wrote: “If you want to run the country, at least keep the job market transparent and free of corruption. How will the country run if party identity replaces merit, lobbying replaces ability and question leaks replace examinations?” Warning of the consequences, he said that if this went on, the party would one day bring about its own ruin, like eating its own tail.

At the end of the post he called for a merit-based society, saying all examinations must be free of question leaks and the misuse of quotas and partisanship in recruitment must end. He called for extortion and the seizing of control to be given up and a Bangladesh founded on merit, ability and justice to be established.
