A mason named Tohidul Islam, 24, has died after being electrocuted while working on the construction of a house in Chougachha, Jashore.
The incident happened on Saturday (September 19) afternoon at Raghunathpur village in the upazila.
Tohidul was the son of Abdul Mannan of Pashapol village. He worked as a mason.
Chougachha police station’s officer-in-charge, Mamunur Rashid, confirmed the incident.
Local sources said Tohidul had been working on the construction of a house at Raghunathpur village in Pashapol union of the upazila. He was seriously injured after being electrocuted through a moment’s carelessness while at work. Local people then rescued him and took him to Chougachha Government Model Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Ruhul Amin, a doctor in the emergency department at Chougachha Government Model Hospital, said: “The injured man died before he was brought to the hospital.”
