A shooting occurred in Kushtia’s Mirpur upazila stemming from a dispute between an uncle and nephew over the division of online gambling money. A man named Suruj was shot in the incident.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon, August 19, in Angdia Chorpara village, in the upazila’s Amla union. Local residents later rescued the wounded Suruj and admitted him to Kushtia 250-Bed General Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

According to local sources, Alam — younger brother of Amla union Awami League general secretary Azmer — and online gambling dealer Tapu had roughly Tk 8 million in commission money between them.
