The ‘FUL Scholarship-2025’ has been awarded to 49 meritorious primary- and secondary-level students in Ulipur, Kurigram.
At a ceremony held at the upazila auditorium on Monday (June 22), the chief guest, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) A T M Arif, handed certificates and one-time scholarship money to the students.
According to the organisers, a total of 49 students from three secondary and four primary schools in the upazila were selected for the scholarship. Of these, 18 students at the secondary level and 31 at the primary level were given the scholarship.
The ceremony, presided over by the director of the ‘Fight Until Light (FUL)’ organisation, Abdul Kader, was addressed by special guests including the director of the Ulipur-Kurigram Academy Residential School, Shafiqul Islam; the officer-in-charge of Ulipur police station, Saeed Ibne Siddique; the upazila primary education officer, Nargis Fatima Tokdar; and the vice-principal of Ulipur Government College, Abu Zobayer Al Mukul.
The speakers called on the students to be inspired by perseverance, honesty and moral values and to contribute to the country’s development. They also called on wealthy and conscientious members of society to come forward to expand education.
The voluntary organisation FUL said the scholarship programme had been launched for the first time in Ulipur upazila with 49 meritorious students, and that it would continue regularly every year in future.
