The 2026 examinations of the HSC programme run by Bangladesh Open University (BOU) will begin simultaneously across the country on Friday, July 24, according to the previously announced schedule. The exams will be held at a total of 216 centres in various public and private schools and educational institutions nationwide.

The information came in a press release from the BOU authorities on Wednesday, July 22.

A total of 47,041 candidates will sit the exams across the first and second years — 27,796 male and 19,238 female students. As every year, the university authorities have taken the necessary steps, with the help of the local administration, to hold the exams in a peaceful, cheating-free environment.

Vigilance teams from BOU will also be on duty at various centres. The timing of the Bangla first paper (HSC 1851) and Bangla second paper (HSC 2851) exams, postponed on July 17, will be announced later. Details are available on the BOU website, www.bou.ac.bd.
