Bangladesh will buy 10 Airbus aircraft and the deal will be signed in October, civil aviation and tourism minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat told journalists on Tuesday afternoon (September 29).
Agreements have so far been signed to buy 25 Boeing aircraft from the United States, with the first due to arrive in 2031, he said.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines sources say the national flag carrier currently has 19 aircraft. It signed a deal with Boeing for 14 aircraft in April. With 11 more Boeings and 10 Airbus aircraft, the fleet would grow to 54 aircraft within a few years.
Biman signed the deal to buy 14 Boeing aircraft for about Tk 45,000 crore in April. It covers eight 787-10 Dreamliners, two 787-9 Dreamliners and four 737-8 MAX aircraft.
