One person died of measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours (from 8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday), though no confirmed measles death was recorded in that period. The combined number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms has risen to 657, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a bulletin on Tuesday (June 16).
According to the health directorate, 93 people have died of confirmed measles, while 564 have died of measles-like symptoms.
In the past 24 hours, 1,006 suspected measles patients were identified, and 136 confirmed measles cases were detected. A total of 10,523 people have so far been infected with confirmed measles. The total number of suspected cases has risen to 87,929.
