Saudi Arabia has launched a “New Muslim” card service for people interested in embracing Islam. Through the service, introduced by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the entire process of declaring one’s conversion to Islam can be completed, with all steps handled automatically.

The minister of Islamic affairs, dawah and guidance, Sheikh Dr Abdullatif Al al-Sheikh, launched the ministry’s digital “New Muslim” card service. He said it was introduced as part of efforts to make government services more digital.

The card is linked to the Tawakkalna app. As soon as an application is approved, the card appears in the app. Through coordination with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), users can easily view the card and verify its authenticity.

The card also carries a QR code, which can be used to confirm its authenticity and check whether it was officially issued by the relevant authority.

The ministry said the initiative would also improve the quality of data and make it possible to produce more accurate reports and statistics to support planning and decision-making.
